Luxury living for Boston's DIY Lifestyle. The Scott represents the all too real story of Boston's rampant gentrification problems. The Allston neighborhood of Boston has long been home to the city's vibrant music scene, and the Great Scott venue was an integral part of showcasing rising stars and creating an inclusive community. When the venue closed during the COVID-19 Pandemic, it felt like a fatal blow to the city's cultural landscape. In response, the Scott imagines the age old story of a beloved institution being exploited for profit as its replaced with luxury condos. It happened to the Rathskeller in Kenmore Square, to the Channel in Fort Point, and it felt like inevitably it would happen to the Great Scott.
